Haven’t posted in quite a while, so here’s a little doodle I did recently. Also I’ve applied to school in hopes of getting some sort of degree in IT (networking most likely). I’m probably going to start shifting my art focus from Illustration and game design towards more personal works. I find that I have the most fun with art when I’m just drawing or painting random weird stuff. I miss just sitting down and painting without having any sort of goal or subject matter in mind. So I’m going to do more of that good stuff. Art will still be my creative outlet, but I plan on focusing less on it as a career choice, and more as an activity I do for fun. I’d still love to do art for a living, but for now I’m not sure where I want to go with it. I’ll still post art as I do it, but who knows how frequent that will be.

I recently finished this illustration and am really really pleased with the outcome. I wanted to work on a whole piece rather than just the figure and a bit of background. I also really wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. I worked with a lighter values and saturation (which isn’t really my style), and thoroughly enjoyed the process as well as the outcome. I think I’m going to gear most of my future stuff around this approach. It will surely help me grow as an artist.

And SHIT…I really gotta kill this habit of outlining things! Old habits die hard I guess…but if I work on it I’m sure I can stray towards greener pastures.

In light of the new mmorpg I’m playing I decided to draw a necromancer (in lich form). He’s all evil and whatnot, which is totally up my ally. And here’s a character design I thought up, some kind of lizard dude.

Online Shop (T-Shirts, Stickers, and more)!

Heyo! I’ve finally gotten around to making an online shop. I chose CafePress.com because most people reviewed it as the best place to set up an online shop. With this shop I can add my designs to T-shirts, stickers, hats, hoodies, you name it. Thus far I’ve only added two designs, but plan on adding more asap. There is a ton of awesome products that I can slap my artwork on.

As well as wearable merchandise I am also going to put original artwork up for sale, as well as prints at pretty low prices. I’ve had a lot of requests for prints, but never really got around to doing it, so this should be cool. Here’s a link to the shop: http://www.cafepress.com/IllConceived

The designs I am making for T-shirts aren’t really my typical “style”. I’m going for a much more graphic approach that’s typical for T-shirt designs. So far I’m pretty happy with what I’ve made. This new approach to art is definitely different and exciting, so expect to see a bunch of other cool designs added to my shop soon.

I hope the prices are reasonable enough so people can afford them. I had to mark up the products more than I’d like so I actually make any sort of profit…it’s ridiculous how much it costs for a company to print and ship one T-shirt. But either way, if you buy any of my stuff thanks a ton! I can definitely use all the support I can get. Maybe one day I can do this art stuff for a living (crossing fingers). Outbreak!

Heeeeyo! Been pretty busy lately doing anatomy studies and also some more finished concept art stuff. The last couple nights I’ve been working on my take of a zombie like outbreak. Now I know you’re thinking, “Why zombies, they’ve been done a million times before…kinda gettin old.” And I answer you ZOMBIES CAN NEVER GET OLD!!! They will forever be awesome.

My zombie outbreak isn’t based around some virus…no no no! There is a worm-like parasite that travels into your brain and takes over both mind and body! DUDE YOU GOT WORMS!

Aquatic warrior concept

Drew and painted this concept today. I was thinking about a race from under the sea like Atlantis or whatever. Used a reference for the anatomy. It was tons of fun, and I want to do a bunch more in this style. Gotta keep working on anatomy and other stuff though.

I definitely need to work more on the basics. Anatomy, light, color, ect. So you’ll probably start seeing a lot more rough sketches and study type stuff. I also want to keep working on completed illustrations, but they take up a lot of time that I could be working on the fundamentals.
